Biography

It's not often that you get the chance to witness the emergence of a complete artist and that is exactly what the Soul scene has acquired in the form of Louise Golbey.

Louise is a London based singer, songwriter and musician. Her sound can be described as contemporary Soul with a twist of Jazz ... her voice is unique. Her use of original melodies, infectious hooks and head-nodding rhythms command the listener's attention.

Blessed with a genuinely soulful voice, she sets herself apart from her contemporaries. She has performed extensively at many of the London's internationally renowned live music venues. You must see her live!

Louise has been in the studio with Mercury Music Prize nominee producer Drew Horley, who has worked with such artists as De La Soul, Estelle, Roots Manuva, TY, Natalie Williams and Nate James and has just released the first of her new singles ’The Sea and Me’.
Louise's track ‘Same Old Same Old’ was Ras Kwame's tip of the week on The Homegrown show on Radio 1xtra and was played on 6music on the Tom Robinson show. Her tracks have also been played on Radio 1 by both Ras Kwame and Huw Stephens. Due in part to this success, Louise played the BBC introducing stage at Glastonbury 2009 on Friday 26th June.

Louise recently supported UK soul sensation Omar at the Bernie Grants Arts Centre and both Vula (Basement Jaxx), and Kele le Roc at the world renowned Jazz Café. She has also recently played at London's premier jazz venue, Ronnie Scotts and is performing at the launch-night of The London Jazz Festival at The Barbican in November.
